About Center City Church

The History of Center City Church
Center City Church was born out of the vision of various members of Hope Evangelical Free Church in the northeast part of Albuquerque. Two families began hosting a prayer time in March of 2003, for the point of praying that a new church could be started. Over the course of the next several months other families began to catch the vision and joined the core group of interested persons. In July of 2003 formal planning for a new church was begun with the financial assistance of Hope Church.

Weekly prayer times and Bible study followed for the next year and a half. Many organizational details were cared for during this time and the core group continued to grow. Our first pastor arrived here in Albuquerque in February of 2005. A building was leased on 4th St. NW and Summer, which became our home for the next three years. With the expiration of that lease, Center City Church has recently begun leasing space from Menaul School.

The Biblical Purpose of Church
We believe that the Biblical purpose of Church can be described using the acronym WEFES, which stands for; Worship - declaring God's worth; Edification - growing in spiritual maturity; Fellowship - sharing together in God's family; Evangelism - sharing the Good News of Jesus (Gospel) with others; Service - serving others in the community.
